I, Jerome Selvan, would like to expound the journey of my post-graduation education in real estate at NHSMRE. I was a graduate in civil engineering and had worked for couple of years in the engineering and construction sector. I was eager to pursue my post-graduation studies to deepen my knowledge and get better employment opportunities in the real-estate and infra sector. Niranjan Hiranandani School of Management and Real Estate offered me an opportunity to pursue an MBA programme in real estate under the prestigious HSNC University. The admission tests evaluate my aptitude, knowledge, and analytical abilities. Furthermore, my undergraduate academic standing and, prior professional experience was considered by the committee. I was glad on getting selected by the admission committee and securing a place in the first batch (2021-23) of NHSMRE.

The syllabus and courses of the programme were unique and had compelled me to choose NHSMRE. The programme is divided into four semesters over a period of two years. Internships must be completed to ensure the relevant industry experience is gained before graduating from the school. The faculty of the courses included distinguished people like Dr Sunder Ram Korivi, Ms Madhulika Mundra,Mr RK Gandhi and Mr Rajesh Bhatia to name a few.

Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani sir himself took lectures in the first semester. It was a dream come true for me and my batchmates to learn under him. The first and second semester introduced us to the world of management science. It was exciting to learn the novel concepts of managerial science.

There was a two-month long internship to be done at the end of the second semester in the summer break. The institute helped me to get placed at “Knight Frank India to work in the valuations team as an intern. It was an thriling experience to work with one of the top property consultants of the country.

Post my internship, I joined back college for the third semester. This semester introduced us to industry specific pathways. We were taught by renowned faculties like Mr Sandeep Bikhchandani, Mr RK Gandhi.

I worked on my capstone project during the fourth semester, where Dr. Aarti Khanchandani guided me in addressing the key aspects of my research and helped me refine my focus to align with academic and professional standards.

Dr Sunder Ram Korivi showed the nuances of Corporate Governance in this semester.

We had a lot of industry interaction with people from JLL, Savills, Anarock, CBRE throughout the MBA RE programme.

During the two years at NHSMRE, we as students were facilitated to participate in industry events held by NAREDCO, IMC, and other bodies. These great experiences moulded my thought processes concerning the practices of the industry. My batchmates were outstanding and it was very beneficial to study and connect with them. We enjoyed our college days together.

The two-year programme taught and equipped with the skills required to outshine in the job market.

I joined “Sila Real Estate Advisory” at the end of the fourth semester. The concepts that I imbibed during my college days helped me immensely during my corporate workplace interactions.

Currently I am working with Godrej and Boyce Mfg.Co.Ltd. as Deputy Manager–Construction Materials.

I am grateful to the school for providing me a wonderful platform to learn, connect and thrive in the real estate industry of the country.

I embarked on my journey with NHSMRE to gain insight and knowledge about the real estate industry. I am delighted to share that my experience has far exceeded my expectations.

From the outset, the college provided regular industry interactions that were invaluable. These interactions not only enhanced my understanding of the real estate sector but also expanded my professional network significantly. Through these connections, I have been exposed to a wealth of knowledge and opportunities that I never anticipated.

However, joining NHSMRE has truly transformed my life in the most positive ways. Now, I have blossomed into a confident young woman, no longer fearful of reaching out to others.

NHSMRE feels like home to me. It is a place where I have been nurtured and supported through my failures, always encouraged to rise up and keep fighting.
